No matter what mobile apps you like, they all have one thing in common - they put a strain on your phone's performance. Avast, the global leader in digital device security, has prepared a new report Avast Android App Performance & Trend Report, which shows users which apps were the most limiting smartphone performance in the first quarter of 2017.

Avast ranked the 20 "hungriest" apps based on their impact on battery life, storage space and data drain on the device. The overview was created on the basis of information from more than 3 million users Androidua compares the most demanding applications. This time, three new applications from Google, which are Play Music, Talkback a Google Docs. As far as the load on the mobile memory is concerned, it has traditionally occupied the front ranks Facebook, Instagram a Amazon.

List of applications that load the most Android (annotated gallery):

"According to the statistics (company Gartner, note ed.) smartphone sales rose by 9,1% in the last quarter, and the market is still dominated by devices with Androidem. In affordable smartphones, some elements such as storage are often neglected, so the impact of individual applications on the performance of these devices is crucial.” explains Gagan Singh, president of Avast's mobile division, adding: "Many of us use our smartphone for work, communication with family, orientation, entertainment, and in order to do this to the fullest, it's certainly good to know which apps use the most battery, data and storage space of the device."

Applications that appeared in the ranking for the first time:

  • google talkback: It is new in the list of applications that start automatically when the device starts. Talkback is also activated by a number of other applications, which means it can remain active even after restarting the phone.

  • Google Play Music: Drains the phone's battery mainly due to ad blocking.

  • SHAREit: This app from Lenovo that allows you to share files between devices is dependent on a Wi-Fi network. It ranked fourth on the list of the most demanding applications that the user turns on.

  • Google Docs: A simple text editor is ranked second in the list of apps launched by the user. The app slows down the device the most when connected to Google Drive via 3G data or Wi-Fi.

  • Samsung Media Hub: In benchmarks, its version is mostly evaluated on older Samsung devices on which it is pre-installed. Users should remove the outdated version and replace it with the latest version.

  • Piano Tiles 2: Tests performed on Samsung models Galaxy The S6 led to the discovery that continuous use of this app absolutely drained the phone's battery in just 3,5 hours.

Google's app results are worth noting. All eight Google applications figure both in the ranking of the 10 most demanding applications that are turned on by the user himself, and in the ranking of those that are launched automatically at startup. Samsung, too, has the upper hand on both lists with its seven apps. The results may be due to the fact that both Google and Samsung applications are on devices with Androidem often pre-installed. The problematic trio among messengers, which can be found in the TOP ten, consists of an outdated one Kitten, Google Hangouts a LINE: Free Calls & Messaging.

Among the apps that saw improvement in the first quarter was the picture messenger Snapchat, social network Facebook or music player Spotify. Compared to last quarter, when all three apps were the biggest burden on devices, they now appear in the lower ranks of the charts. The app is also worth mentioning musica.ly, which has now not appeared on any of the lists.
