It's no secret that the South Korean giant's phones for the US use different processors than those found in phones for the rest of the world. This fact is caused by Qualcomm's patent policy, which puts its processors in American Samsungs instead of Samsung's Exynos. However, this has caused some problems in the past. There were voices claiming that this change had a visible effect on the performance of the otherwise same phone. Some tests even partially proved them right. This problem would, however, in the case of a new Galaxy The Note 8, which should have been presented to me in nine days in New York, should not have happened.

Benchmark results appeared on the Internet a few days ago, showing almost identical values for both phones. So how did both phones do? The phone equipped with a Snapdragon 835 processor is slightly worse. In the test, it scored 1815 points on single-core and 6066 points on multi-core. Its "competitor" scored 1984 points for one core, and 6116 points for multiple cores.

So if you were one of those customers who were thinking about the Note 8 but were put off by the thought that their phone might be slightly worse than the one sold in the US, you can relax. This situation should not occur, at least for this year, and truly identical phones should reach the market, in which the biggest differentiating factor will be the company name stamped on the chip. However, we will be able to confirm this with absolute certainty only after some time has passed after the start of sales.
