Last week on Wednesday with the world he showed with great glory the new Samsung Galaxy Note8. With its parameters, the phone is aimed at the most demanding users, which corresponds to its price of CZK 26. Not only the performance is top-notch, but also the camera, which this time is dual. The most interesting thing, however, is that both cameras offer optical image stabilization, making the Note990 the first smartphone in the world to boast this feature. But what is Dual OIS good for? That's what we'll talk about today.

Although it may not seem like it at first glance, the Note8 is extremely important to Samsung. First of all, it has to repair the reputation of the Note series, which was greatly damaged by last year's model. In the second row, Samsung enters the world of dual cameras with it, which has been so important recently. Perhaps that's why South Korean engineers left nothing to chance and pushed the dual camera to a level that no other manufacturer has yet achieved. Dual optical stabilization is a real exclusive and brings benefits especially when zooming.

S Galaxy You can use the Note8's double optical zoom without losing quality. A second camera with a different focal length is used to double the zoom. However, if you need to zoom in on an object even more, then digital zoom, which we have known from phones for several years, comes into play. And this is where dual optical image stabilization, i.e. OIS on both cameras, comes in handy.

But while with optical zoom you do not lose image quality, with digital zoom it is exactly the opposite - the closer you get to the object, the worse the quality of the photo will be. But with dual optical stabilization, the situation is much better. If you use the maximum 10x digital zoom, the photo quality will be from Galaxy The Note8 is noticeably better than, for example, the iPhone 7 Plus, which also has a dual camera, but only the main camera is optically stabilized.

Thanks to Dual OIS, the quality is not only better for digitally zoomed photos, but also, for example, for portrait mode or especially when shooting video with a telephoto lens, i.e. with double zoom. There are several advantages, and it is already clear that Samsung will soon be followed by other manufacturers who will deploy Dual OIS in their smartphones with two cameras.
