Today, Samsung showed off the second generation of Gear IconX headphones, which brings several improvements, we wrote more about them here. Foreign server Phonearena, which has an editor at the IFA trade fair in Berlin, has already brought the first video view and thus revealed several interesting things that Samsung did not boast about in the official press release. Let's summarize them.

As we already know, the durability of the headphones went up noticeably. The new generation should be able to play music via Bluetooth for 5 hours on a single charge. But if you use the internal 4GB storage, you will get 6 hours of battery life.

As with the previous generation, the new Gear IconX is charged through a special case that is included in the package of the headphones. It now has a USB-C port (the previous generation had micro USB). The case also works as a power bank and can fully charge the headphones once. But the good news is that it now supports fast charging.

But in order for the battery life to be a bit longer, the heart rate sensor had to be removed. Thanks to this, there was room for a larger battery in the body. But Samsung also explained that it did not want to offer users another heart rate sensor when their smartphone or Gear smartwatch already has one.

Despite the lack of a heart rate sensor, the Gear IconX are mainly aimed at consumers with sports interests, as they offer fitness functions. Users have access to them through touch gestures on the outer part of the headphones. Music playback, volume and Bixby can be controlled in the same way.
