Although many users mainly associate Samsung with phones, it is not the only industry in which it tries to set the trend. For example, the computer industry is also very important to the South Korean giant, so it is not surprising that really interesting pieces are born in its development laboratories. Samsung recently patented one such thing and it is probably only a matter of time before it is implemented in its laptops.

Imagine opening your laptop and instead of entering a password, you just make an unlock gesture of your choice on its trackpad, or browse the Internet with just hand gestures without touching the trackpad at all. This is exactly the function Samsung would like to add to its laptops. He patented a trackpad that, in addition to the pressure recognition function, also has a number of sensors for recognizing contactless control.

The sensors should be really accurate and recognize in detail everything that your hands are pointing at above the trackpad. Unfortunately, for now, you will only be limited to the "sensored" area, scanning outside of it will probably not be supported or will not work correctly. Even so, it's certainly an interesting gadget that could beautify the new Samsung notebooks. However, it is already clear that it will not be for everyone - the price will probably not be low at all.

Samsung is not new to this industry

If this technology seems like it's from another galaxy, you're wrong. Something similar has even appeared at Samsung itself. He instilled a few non-contact gestures, for example, in Galaxy S4. However, users didn't quite like the usefulness of this gadget, and gestures gradually receded into the background. However, a similar gadget would take on a completely different dimension on a laptop, so its implementation is quite likely. So let's be surprised when and if at all (it is a patent after all) we will see it.
