The South Korean giant presented two very interesting innovations in its portfolio yesterday. This is a duo of new camera sensors with a resolution of 12 and 24 Mpx. Immediately after the presentation, there were speculations that we were dealing with components for the upcoming one Galaxy S9.
Theories that the novelty will be part of the new S9 are quite plausible. The 12 Mpx sensor should have slightly better parameters than its predecessor in the Note8 or S8 models. Thanks to their dimensions, they would also fit perfectly into the module for a dual camera, which Samsung is also allegedly preparing for its S9. The big attraction of the new sensor is also ultrasonic focusing, which should catapult the new camera to the position of the best camera in a smartphone. However, this position is now occupied by the new Google Pixel 2, which, according to available information, should have a quite similar sensor.
The second 24 Mpx sensor should be surprisingly small despite its high resolution, so it should easily fit into the thinnest models. However, it is difficult to say what Samsung intends to do with it in the future. In the development of the dual camera for the S9, due to the time left until the presentation, he does not bet on it and prefers to take the path he already trodden some time ago with the Note8 model. However, let us be surprised, in the end everything can be completely different.
