Although it may seem that the South Korean Samsung has been successful in the last year and practically nothing is bothering it, the opposite is true. Despite the promising future, its leadership is slowly disintegrating, and after the corruption case of one of the highest representatives of this technological giant, another very important figure is leaving the company.

The company's vice president Oh-Hyun Kwon, who until now ranked among the three most influential men at Samsung, announced his resignation. According to his words, he wants to make room for young blood with his move, who should be able to respond better to the rapidly developing technology industry and set the direction in it. He himself, on the other hand, will completely disappear from Samsung and is said not to apply for any other posts.

"It's something I've been thinking about for a long time. It wasn't an easy decision, but I feel like I can't postpone it any longer," Kwon commented on his departure.

Society passes on in times of prosperity

Even though the departure of one of the most important members of the management is an unpleasant blow for Samsung, it must be admitted that Kwon could not have chosen a better time to leave. As I already wrote in the opening paragraph, the South Korean giant is really experiencing golden times. According to reports so far from various analytical companies, the third quarter of 2017 brought a respectable 14,5 trillion won to Samsung's coffers, which is roughly 280 billion crowns. This is mainly due to chips, the price of which has skyrocketed in recent months.

However, despite the promising results, Samsung is tempering its enthusiasm. He is aware that although the profits are great, they are rather the fruits of older investments and decisions. However, the engine that would ensure a bright future for the company is not yet on the horizon, and this worries Samsung's management a little. Hopefully, in the future, there will be no significant drop and South Koreans will continue to rank among the top of the technology industry.
