What comes to mind when you think of a dual camera in a phablet Galaxy Note8? I bet most of you elaborate Portrait mode. However, this very attraction could also appear on other flagships of the South Korean giant in the future.

Until now, Portrait modes have mainly been associated with dual cameras. After all, i Apple it is offered only in the Plus version of the iPhone, which has a dual camera. However, it seems that this mode would not be a problem even for phones with a classic single-lens camera.

One curious user of the model wrote to the Samsung customer center Galaxy S8, who asked what the portrait mode is like and whether Samsung is preparing it for other phones as well. The answer he got is very interesting to say the least. The customer center has indirectly confirmed not only that Portrait mode can be used on single-lens phones without any problems, but also that users of S8 models will receive it in one of the future updates.

If you want, everything is possible

It would be the bomb for sure. The portrait mode is a real attraction for many users and they choose the phone because of it. However, if you're not a fan of the Note8, you've been out of luck so far. Samsung would thus please a wide range of users with an update that would bring Portrait mode to the classic S8 model as well. And since this is a purely software issue, it is not unrealistic at all. After all, we were recently convinced of this by our competitor Google, which instilled this feature in its new Pixels. The portraits that come out of the Pixel 2 are really excellent and you really can't tell that they were taken with only one lens.

So let's be surprised if Samsung will surprise us with this improvement in the future. It would be a really interesting innovation that the world would certainly appreciate.
