Samsung has announced the launch of a mobile security rewards program. This is a new mobile vulnerability program that invites mobile security researchers to assess the integrity of Samsung mobile devices and related software to uncover potential vulnerabilities in these products. Samsung will make the most of the skills and expertise of mobile security researchers to strengthen its strong commitment to provide customers with a secure mobile experience.

“As a leading provider of mobile devices and mobile experiences, Samsung understands the importance of protecting data and informace users, and therefore considers security an absolute priority in the development of all its products and services," said Injong Rhee, executive vice president and director of research and development, software and services of the Mobile Communications business unit of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.

"As part of our commitment to mobile security, Samsung is proud to partner with researchers in the field to ensure that all of its products are closely and continuously monitored for any potential vulnerabilities."

Samsung's commitment to mobile security

Samsung's mobile security rewards program is the latest initiative to demonstrate the company's strong commitment to offering all customers a secure mobile experience. The reward program was launched in January 2016 with a pilot phase, the aim of which was to ensure an efficient and productive introduction of the project to the wider community of security experts.

In addition, since October 2015, Samsung has released monthly security updates for its most important devices. The pace of updates, which is unparalleled in the industry, would not be possible without the cooperation and help of researchers from all over the world.
