Not long ago we you informed about the fact that Samsung is trying to develop a fingerprint reader integrated in the display, which it would like to introduce into a future phablet Galaxy Note9. Another flagship Galaxy S9 would again she should have gotten a completely redesigned facial scanning technology that should be equal in quality to Apple's Face ID. Despite these efforts, however, Samsung apparently did not resent the classic version of the fingerprint reader. He patented a very interesting thing that he may use in future products.

The South Korean giant often faces criticism precisely for the location of its reader. According to many users, its position on the back side next to the camera is uncomfortable and its entire effectiveness is degraded by its location. And that's exactly what Samsung decided to solve. His latest patent provides for the integration of a reader on the front of the phone. However, since the company is trying to break through with its Infinity displays, which are really very impressive, they solve the reader with a small cut-out on the bottom of the smartphone. This would allow Samsung to achieve a huge display and at the same time preserve the physical button, which is slowly disappearing from its top smartphones, but it would be a shame not to connect it to the reader, which is why the cut-out is made anyway.

Although this solution may seem very interesting, it is difficult to say how the customers of the South Korean giant would react to it. Some time ago, the website sammobile conducted a survey in which it asked its readers for their opinion on the cutout of the iPhone X. The conclusion was quite clear. The vast majority of respondents condemned the cutout and called it tasteless. However, it is difficult to say whether South Koreans would follow the voice of the people. Personally, I think that they wouldn't try a similar experiment with flagships, but it might not be completely unrealistic for smartphones in the lower to mid-range price range. Of course, this is just a patent so far, so it still needs to be looked at.
