The closer the introduction of the new one is Galaxy S9, the more speculation and "substantiated information" appears about how Samsung actually coped with the new flagship. One of the biggest question marks hangs over the fingerprint sensor solution. We have informed you about this quite intensively in recent days, and today will be no exception.

According to the latest reports from China, Samsung has started working on a new optical fingerprint sensor. Although it has proven to be quite inaccurate and easily fooled in the past, Samsung may believe that it can fine-tune it to perfection. In addition, this technology should be able to be implemented in the display itself, which would mean a really solid revolution. However, it must be admitted that something similar was also discussed in the case of last year's Note8. However, the reality was somewhat different as a result and the sensor appeared again on the back of the phone.

After all, even the Chinese report considers integration into the display to be very unlikely and rather bets on a classic location next to the camera or on a location in a completely different place on the phone's body. However, moving the reader would not be a bad solution. It is true that the reader is relatively inconspicuous next to the camera and does not spoil the overall impression of the back, placing it in a more accessible place in combination with a brilliantly managed integration into the back or side of the phone would not detract from its beauty, and as a bonus it would silence dissatisfied users who after They have been calling for a move to the fingerprint reader for years.

Face scan overshadows classic fingerprint

Overall, however, the report suggests that the use of Touch ID will be almost unnecessary thanks to the far more accurate facial scanning technology that Samsung is reportedly working on. The accuracy of the new product will really appeal to most users and they will be happy to move away from the classic fingerprint on the back of the phone. However, this assumption is contradicted by the statement of KGI analysts, who see solid potential in the fingerprint reader and claim that Samsung will place it under the display in its phone. However, according to them, it will not be the S9 model, but the Note9. Wouldn't Samsung still be at the finish line with development? Hard to say.

In any case, we must take all such reports with a considerable grain of salt and not attach too much weight to them. However, since similar reports appear quite often and the sources often speak in the same way, perhaps the true form Galaxy We are slowly getting closer to the S9.
