Samsung started selling its Gear Sport smartwatch and the second generation Gear IconX headphones in the Czech Republic today. The aforementioned accessories were presented by the South Korean giant at the end of August at the IFA trade fair in Berlin, and were originally supposed to go on sale here in November. But as Samsung reported today on its own official Facebook page, both products are already on sale and can be purchased at selected retailers.
Gear Sport
The new addition to the range of Samsung watches - Gear Sport - is aimed at athletes and above all at swimmers, with a tailored design and function. The watch has a round Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, which is protected by durable Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Inside, a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.0GHz is ticking, followed by a RAM of 768 MB and 4GB of storage is ready for data. The equipment also includes Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, GPS module, 300mAh battery, wireless charging and, of course, a heart rate sensor that constantly measures you and shows values in real time. Dust and water resistance thanks to IP68 certification is also a matter of course, when according to Samsung, the watch can withstand up to a depth of 50 meters. The MIL_STD-810G military standard is also pleasing, which makes the watch resistant to thermal shocks, etc. The accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer and ambient light sensor are definitely worth mentioning.

Gear Icon X (2018)
The Gear IconX (2018) headphones directly follow on from their predecessor and bring several improvements. First of all, battery life has improved, which was the stumbling block of the previous model. According to Samsung, the second generation IconX can play music for a full 7 hours (when using the internal storage of the headphones) and up to 4 hours of phone calls. Also new is support for fast charging through the supplied case, which serves as a power bank and also has a new USB-C port. The new IconX have also learned to cooperate with Bixby, which can be activated through one of the earphones to enter commands. In contrast, the new generation got rid of the heart rate sensor, precisely to free up space for the battery.
