Mobile application IDOS timetables, which, among other things, became the Application of the Year 2016 and has been providing users with timetables for several years, has undergone a major update. This widely used search engine for transport connections now offers passengers the option of buying a ticket directly from the application and also allows you to search for all connections without having to switch between individual timetables.

Among the main innovations is the search for connections with a single query thanks to a completely new combination of options All timetables. This now includes all types of transport – both local public transport timetables and bus and train timetables. Users no longer need to switch between individual timetables to find out how to get, for example, from a public transport stop in Prague to a public transport stop in Brno. This previously required switching between local public transport timetables and bus and train timetables. So, first search for how to get to/from the station in a given city and then search for an intercity connection.

For greater clarity of the From/To choice when searching for a connection, the whisperer has also received a practical improvement. A description of the object is now displayed for the name of the object (municipality, part of the municipality, stops, addresses, etc.). In addition, individual types of objects are distinguished by a clear icon. It indicates from which list the object is selected. These special object lists include a list of nearby objects (based on my location), a list of objects from the user's favorite sessions, and a list of objects from the search history.

After completing the search and selecting a connection, the user will see another breakthrough. In the new version of the search engine, it is now possible to buy a ticket directly from the application.

"The user will therefore no longer be redirected to an external sales system. From the searched connections, he simply chooses the one for which he wants to buy a ticket. Only during the first purchase does he select his age category, the list of his discount cards, and he is offered the most advantageous ticket." he says Michal Hanak, a member of the media group's board of directors MAFRA, which publishes the application, responsible for digital content, MAFRA DIGITAL, AAA Poptávka.cz.

With regard to the protection of user data, payment is made through the secure environment of the ČSOB payment gateway, where you can pay both by payment card and the MasterPass application. The application, or the IDOS.cz sales system, then stores all purchased tickets in one place. The user can also make ticket purchases under his user account. Thanks to this, he will be able to access his tickets from other devices as well. This functionality is currently reserved only for the mobile application.

"The latest version represents a significant milestone in the history of the application. We have significantly increased the user comfort of the possibility to purchase tickets directly from the application, which was also a frequent reminder of users. Another significant extension is also the possibility to search for or ignore the connections of a specific carrier. This function is located in the Advanced entry, and thanks to it, users can search for connections of their favorite carrier or, conversely, skip connections of their unfavorite carrier.” he says Tomáš Chlebničan, director of the company CHAPS, which is responsible for the technological development of the application and ensures the sale of tickets within the Chaps group.
