So we finally got it. Payment service Android After a long wait and a lot of speculation, Pay enters the Czech Republic. This morning, Google announced the entry of the service into the Czech territory at a press conference, and the good news is that Android Users can start using Pay from today, i.e. practically immediately.

Supported banks

However, everything has its limits and so on Android Only three Czech banks – MONETA, mBank and J&T – support Pay at the start. Komerční banka should join soon, and within the next year, Fio as well. The list of supported banks for the Czech Republic can be found at official Google website, which, among other things, also says that Android Pay supports both debit and credit cards.

Where and how payments through Android Pay works

You can pay via Andorid Pay at all terminals that support contactless payments. In the Czech Republic, we are lucky that contactless payments are really popular here, so you can pay with your smartphone in basically every store. To make a payment, just wake up the phone and bring it to the terminal (the smartphone must have NFC). If the payment is higher than CZK 500, the phone needs to be unlocked to ensure security.   • Enter the card number, its validity and CVC code (on the back of the card)
  • Verify the correctness of the data and fill in the phone number
  • You will receive an SMS with a link that you must click on and then agree to the terms and conditions
  • You will then receive a code on your phone that you enter into the application Android Pay
