Three weeks ago we you informed about the arrival of the payment service Android Pay to the Czech Republic. At launch, however, the novelty had support from only three banks, while others promised to deploy the service in the coming weeks or months. It seems that the adoption of the service is slowly starting to take off, as today Komerční banka is also adding a little bit to the mill, which announced via a press release that Android Pay launches for its clients and adds support to its mobile apps.

Android It is enough to activate Pay directly in Mobile Bank (citizens) or Mobile Bank Business (entrepreneurs, companies) and thus the mobile phone is ready for contactless payments in the Czech Republic and abroad.

"Komerční banka is one of the leaders in the field of banking innovation, and we therefore consider it important to offer our clients the most advanced method of paying by mobile phone - Android Pay. Pilot testing has shown that the new service is really reliable, secure and the customer experience is at the highest level." stated Leoš Souček, deputy executive director of marketing and communication of Komerční banka.

Android Pay makes it very easy to create a digital version for mobile devices from any existing payment card and use it to pay in stores instead of a classic plastic payment card. To use the service Android To pay, all you need is a Komerční banka payment card (debit or credit) and a mobile phone with an operating system Android 4.4 and above, with NFC support. For the payment itself, it is enough to "wake up" the mobile phone and place it on the payment terminal just like a standard plastic card. For transactions over CZK 500, the phone still needs to be unlocked (fingerprint, PIN, gesture, etc.) to increase security. Payments can be made at all payment terminals enabling contactless payment, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Safety is a fundamental building block Android Pay. Since the service does not work with the real payment card number, but only with its digital version, which is unique for each given mobile device, it is not passed on to the merchant who accepts the payment.

Komerční banka has been enabling contactless payments by mobile phone since August 2016, when it launched the MojeMobilní karta service operating on the HCE principle in cooperation with Visa and Worldline. This version of payments by mobile device Android Pay will gradually replace it completely.
