A few weeks ago, we informed you that thanks to a software update for the Gear S3 and Gear Sport smartwatches, their endurance would be extended to an incredible forty days under certain conditions. However, we didn't know that in addition to this interesting upgrade, this update will bring other and far more negative news to users.

The Gear S3 smartwatch software update to Tizen 3.0 has been awaited by many, many users for quite some time. In addition to nice improvements, which include, for example, a redesigned user interface and improved heart rate measurement accuracy, it also brought a serious error.

On foreign forums, posts from unhappy Gear S3 users are appearing more and more often, lamenting that the life of their watch has significantly worsened after the update. Unfortunately, it is not clear at the moment how big a drop in battery life this is, nor what percentage of users are affected by this problem.

This is what the Gear S3 looks like:

The South Korean giant has not yet commented on the whole situation. However, since messages alerting to errors in the system appear quite intensively, it is very likely that its programmers are already working hard on the correction, and the release of a corrective update can be expected in the following days.

In any case, the whole situation is very unpleasant and confirms the fact that, despite long weeks or months of testing, sometimes some errors simply do not show up. Hopefully, at least the South Koreans will react quickly and release the update as soon as possible.
