Many times we are from "trusted" sources that have a new one in development Galaxy S9 great insight, heard that we could expect an in-display fingerprint reader. However, this fact was immediately refuted by someone every time, and we slowly began to come to terms with the fact that we will not see the fingerprint reader in the display again. Today though she rushed the Synaptics company with a rather interesting statement that brought out a glimmer of hope again.

Synaptics is said to be launching the production of a new module that enables fingerprint scanning through the display. According to them, its entire development was primarily focused on integration into frameless OLED panels, which have started to gain momentum in recent months among the world's leading manufacturers. Who will get this technology first, however, is a secret from the company.

Faster than Face ID

The entire technology consists of placing your finger on a certain part of the display, under which the fingerprint scan module is hidden. It immediately reacts to the application and evaluates whether there is a reason to unlock the phone or not. According to Synaptics, their technology is even twice as fast as the latest face scan on Apple's new iPhone X. In addition, the reader under the display is said to be able to deal with virtually any small dirt or moisture that would prevent the phone from being unlocked with classic readers.

Although the new reader under the display is certainly a very interesting initiative, it is difficult to say whether Samsung will include it in its model Galaxy The S9 incorporates. The risk he would take with this step would be really big, and if his decision turned out to be inappropriate over time, the entire generation of the S9 model, which is supposed to be the embodiment of perfection, would be rather an unsightly blot on the otherwise successful portfolio of products from recent months. Integration into the display of the Note9 model, whose introduction is still relatively far away, seems much more likely.

So let's be surprised if we will see something similar next year or not. It would certainly be an interesting thing. However, the question remains whether it is really reliable.
