This year, Google again published rankings of the terms that Czechs searched for most often via the Search Engine in the past year. This so-called "zeitgeist", or the most popular expressions in individual categories, not only recapitulates the main events of this year, but also reveals surprising trends that moved Czech society this year.
Rankings of the most popular search terms on Google provide evidence of current trends by ranking the so-called jumpers - terms that have seen the largest increase in search volume over the past year compared to the previous year.
Politics pulled the most this year: the biggest jump in 2017 was the expression "elections", while "election calculator". The hockey nation of the Czechs, as is customary, "googled" informace about current hockey World Championship. The first draw in history also caused an increase in interest receipt lotteries or introducing a new generation iPhone.
