Some time ago, we informed you that we could expect a smart speaker with the Bixby assistant in the fairly near future, which Samsung would like to use to compete with the well-established Amazon Echo or the upcoming HomePod from Apple. After all, Samsung itself confirmed these plans some time ago. Since then, however, there has been silence on the subject. However, that ends today.

It's been about four months since Samsung let it be known that it was working on a smart speaker project. However, the South Korean giant did not tell us when it plans to launch it. However, according to the latest information that has been circulating the world today, it looks like we are closer to the speaker than we think. We should expect it already in the first half of next year.

Following in Apple's footsteps

According to the agency Bloomberg, which came up with this information, the new smart speaker will be heavily focused on sound quality and managing connected home devices, which should be much easier for users to control through it. With a bit of exaggeration, it can be said that Samsung has at least partially followed in Apple's footsteps. His HomePod should also excel in these features. Since however Apple has pushed its sales from this December to early next year, we're not quite sure what to expect from it.

The smart speaker is said to be even being tested and is doing great so far. Although we don't know its design yet, according to the source, its size is roughly similar to the rival Echo from Amazon. The color variants will also be interesting. You should choose from three versions, while it is quite possible that we will see other variants in the future. After all, Samsung has deployed a similar strategy for its phones, which it also dyes in new colors from time to time. However, we do not yet know the color variants themselves. However, the tested speaker is said to be matte black.

If you've been grinding your teeth on a smart speaker, hold on a little longer. Samsung will reportedly launch it only in certain markets, which could be a limiting factor for the Czech Republic. Its price should then be around 200 dollars, which is definitely not an exorbitant bat. However, let us be surprised if these speculations are confirmed or not. Although it sounds really credible, we will only be able to count on them when Samsung itself confirms a similar thing.
