Less than three months ago, you could read an article with us that Samsung is developing an alternative technology for its new generation of premium TVs. Surprisingly, the South Korean giant was faster than many expected and yesterday at the CES 2018 introduced its first television, which is based on the new MicroLED technology. "The Wall", as Samsung called the TV, has a giant diagonal of 146 inches and already at first glance it gives a truly luxurious impression.

Recently, Samsung has been mainly promoting its QLED technology, which definitely has a lot to offer. However, it seems that the future of premium TVs lies in the new MicroLED technology. It shares many features with OLED, including light-emitting diodes, which means that each individual pixel lights up independently, eliminating the need for any additional backlighting. However, the mentioned diodes are significantly smaller in the case of MicroLED technology, which is reflected not only in the thinner panel compared to OLED, but also in the production, which is easier and thus faster.

The Wall is thus the first ever modular MicroLED TV in the world. Modular because its size and thus its shape can be adjusted according to the customer's needs. It is therefore possible to assemble the TV exactly according to your preferences, i.e. to serve, for example, as an area for presenting or displaying some content, or simply as a classic TV for the living room. Almost zero bezels further contribute to the modular design. At the same time, the TV is able to provide a great color gamut, color volume and perfect black.

However, Samsung did not specify how many modules will be sold in a single package. He also did not reveal how many pieces the demonstration TV at CES is made of. We only know that the company will reveal more details informace at the global launch of sales this spring.
