It is no longer the case that the vast majority of products of various global companies are produced in Asia. In recent years, production and labor costs have increased on this continent as well, and companies have no choice but to move their factories elsewhere. This step is often much more advantageous for them, thanks to the laws of the country in question, and although the work there will cost them a few dollars more, it will be returned to them in, for example, tax breaks or similar benefits. Samsung experienced a similar case a year ago.

The South Korean giant started thinking about a year ago that it could create its first production plant in the United States thanks to the inauguration of Donald Trump as the US president. In the end, he stuck to this idea and in June of last year, he confirmed his intention to build his factory in South Carolina, in which he will invest approximately 380 million dollars. Back then, few would have thought that Samsung would be able to complete its project in the foreseeable future. However, the opposite was true, and the American plant starts commercial production half a year after the start of construction.

It will grow even more in the coming years

The giant factory covers an area of fourteen thousand square meters and consists of two large production halls and an assembly line with twenty presses. More than 800 employees found work in these premises, whose main task is the production of washing machines and various components for them. At the plant, employees also package them and prepare them for shipment to customers throughout the US.

Although the American production plant is already a real colossus, Samsung should expand it solidly in the coming years. By 2020, it plans to create around 200 more jobs, which will of course require the expansion of the existing plant. Residents from the surrounding area certainly cannot complain about the lack of jobs.
