Although Samsung managed to make a record profit last year, it cannot call 2017 a success on all fronts. In some important smartphone markets, it absolutely did not succeed, and if this scenario is repeated this year, Samsung could be in for serious problems.

One of the very important smartphone markets is undoubtedly in the populous China. The purchasing power there is huge, and its control brings a lot of money into the coffers of companies. Unfortunately, Samsung is not doing well in sales here. The situation is even so serious that none of its models made it into the top ten best-selling smartphones of 2017, which is really strange considering the models released last year. As the flagships did not manage to establish themselves Galaxy S8, S8+ or the phenomenal Note8, nor cheap models intended mainly for the poorer population.

However, it would be foolish to think that Samsung's smartphone sales will turn 180 degrees this year. The market there is flooded with cheap and very powerful smartphones, which the South Korean giant cannot yet match. That is, it can compete with them without any problem, but it will not offer as low a price as the competition with almost one hundred percent certainty. However, the unanswered question remains why its flagships are not going on sale either. In the ranking that you see above this paragraph, it is clearly visible that the Chinese enjoy competitive iPhonech, which, however, are priced roughly at the same, if not higher, level.

Hopefully, Samsung will be able to react in time and come up with a strategy that will help it bounce back from the bottom. Losses in the Chinese market are very bad for any company and definitely do not pay off in the long run.
