Last year, we informed you several times about the corruption scandal in which, in addition to some high-ranking South Korean politicians, Samsung's heir, Jae-jong, was also involved. He received a five-year hard sentence from the court, which accused him, among other things, of involvement in the attempt to depose the local president and extensive bribery. However, Jae-yong does not serve the entire sentence in the end.

The Samsung heir disagreed with the court's ruling and tried to change its decision through an appeal. In the end, however, he really succeeded. The Seoul court cut his sentence in half and, in addition, completely cleared him of some charges, thanks to which he partially cleared his name. However, the prosecutors, who want Chae-jong to receive the original sentence, do not agree with the new length of the sentence. It is therefore quite likely that the length of the sentence will change in some way.

The prosecution asked for a harsh sentence

We cannot be surprised at the dissatisfaction of the plaintiffs. In court, they initially asked for a long twelve years behind bars for the Samsung heirs. However, the defense softened the court by claiming that it was only a business matter.

We'll see how the whole situation around Chae-jong will play out. The fact is, however, that the current situation already casts a bad light on the South Korean giant and introduces certain problems into its ranks, which, at least according to the information so far, are disorganizing it to a large extent.
