A few months ago, it surfaced that Samsung will present together with Galaxy S9 to Galaxy S9+ also an accessory called DeX Pad. We were really excited for the unveiling of the Dex Pad docking station, which replaces last year's DeX Station.

Although at first glance it seems that the DeX Pad differs from the Dex Station only in design, the accessory offers many more novelties.

Last year together with Galaxy The S8 also came with the DeX Station box, which was able to turn the flagship into a computer and transform Android to desktop form. However, Samsung has worked on the station and changed the design, choosing a "landscape" form. While it may seem like the South Korean giant has taken a step backwards, the design does matter. Transforms the display Galaxy S9 on the touchpad. So you can use the flagship in the same way as a laptop touchpad, for example when you don't have a mouse with you.

If you used DeX Station, you know that you still needed a mouse to work. However, in the case of the DeX Pad station, you won't need a mouse, because the phone's display will replace it perfectly.

The predecessor had a resolution limited to 1080p, which, however, is dropped in the case of the DeX Pad. You can set the resolution up to 2560 x 1440 for the external monitor, so games look much better. Connectivity is more or less the same. You have two classic USB ports, one USB-C port and HDMI. However, unlike the Dex Station, the DeX Pad no longer has an Ethernet port.

Samsung has not yet revealed how much the DeX Pad will cost, but given that its predecessor cost around $100, we can expect the price to hover around that mark.
