Simply put, it's a smart authentication system that automatically chooses whether to unlock the phone based on facial recognition or iris scanning, depending on what environment you're in. The user thus unlocks the phone in various environments without any problems.
The combination of two different solutions should make authentication easier even for users who have something over their face, such as a scarf. Samsung plans to integrate the feature into various apps as well, starting with Samsung Pass.
