Battery life has been a hot topic in recent years due to the increasing size of smartphone displays. Customers demand from manufacturers that their smartphones, despite the fact that they have a large display, last as long as possible on a single charge, and that they do not have to worry about the fact that their phone will stop working in the middle of the day and you will not be able to revive it except with the help of a charger. The South Korean Samsung is also very well aware of this fact, which has played with the battery life of its phones in recent years and tried to maximize it as much as possible. However, if you expect that he managed to significantly extend the battery life even in the new one Galaxy S9, you will probably be slightly disappointed.

Even this year, Samsung managed to "save" its new flagship and extend its battery life during certain tasks. For example, music playback with the Always On Display turned on went from 44 hours to Galaxy S8 for 48 hours on a new model. A four-hour extension was also recorded by the "plus" model, which can play for 50 hours instead of 54 hours. However, if you deactivate the Always On Display, the smaller model will suddenly go from 67 hours to a respectable 80 hours while listening to music. In the case of the larger model, you will enjoy another three hours more. But that's where the big battery life extension ends. When you further compare last year's and this year's model, you will find that it has improved further only for the call, which you can stretch from 20 to 22 hours with the smaller model, the "plus" has improved by only one hour and from 24 hours to 25 hours.

When it comes to playing videos or surfing the Internet on a WiFi, 3G or LTE network, the phone lasts just as well as last year's model. Looking at the table, however, it is clear that this finding is definitely not to be thrown away, because even the endurance of last year's model was not bad at all for these activities. However, if you over new Galaxy S9 was considered only and only because of the longer battery life, upgrading from last year's model would probably not make much sense (unless, of course, you listen to music on your phone from morning to night).

As I already wrote in the previous paragraph, your battery compared to Galaxy The S8 won't dazzle, but it certainly won't offend in the final reckoning. However, we will have to wait for a Friday for the weekly battery life of the smartphone. The agenda at the moment is rather breathtaking giant edge-to-edge displays.
