Samsung has already indicated several times with its actions from the past months that it is really serious about its smart assistant Bixby and is determined to make it a competitive player that will easily be equal to Apple's Siri, Microsoft's Cortana or Amazon's Alexa, stop what's up And according to a recent statement from the head of Samsung, DJ Koh, it looks like he has a really interesting step towards it.

At the Mobile World Congress 2018, which is taking place these days in Barcelona, Spain, you can really hear about Samsung. He drew attention to himself already on Sunday performance new models Galaxy S9 and S9+, which brings a number of interesting improvements, led by a first-class camera. But it's not just that Galaxy S9, which caught the attention of many. The head of Samsung revealed what plans the company has with Bixby in the coming months.

According to him, the South Korean giant is ready to release the new Bixby 2.0 at the presentation of the upcoming phablet Galaxy Note9, which will most likely be presented to the public at the beginning of the second half of this year. According to Koh, the new Bixby will offer us the possibility of recognizing the voice of more people. In short, this means that it should be capable of certain personalization, which would manifest itself, for example, in the playback of different playlists, which should be assigned to certain voices, and so on. Samsung is said to be intensively testing this new feature.

Competition in jeopardy

The ability to recognize multiple voices could help Samsung a lot in sales of the upcoming smart speaker, which should see the light of day already in the second half of this year. In theory, Samsung could show it for the first time when introducing a new one Galaxy Note 9 and Bixby 2.0, which the speaker will greatly benefit from. With a smart speaker, Samsung will certainly want to compete with its rival Apple, which has already presented its product. HomePod, how it Apple called, however, it cannot recognize multiple voices, which could be a big disadvantage for it in a matchup with Bixby Speaker, as Samsung's speaker is called in the working world.

Hopefully, Samsung will be able to complete its project and successfully introduce Bixby, which can easily recognize multiple voices. On the other hand, however, we will not lie to ourselves that we will use it to a greater extent here in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The support of our language would be a far greater benefit for us. However, we can only dream about that for now.
