Samsung dominates the semiconductor memory market, with the South Korean company looking to strengthen its position by investing in additional production lines. In March of last year, Samsung announced that it had earmarked $8,7 billion to build production lines for NAND flash memory in Hwaseong, South Korea, and Xian, China.

More floated to the surface informace, which this time claims that Samsung plans to expand the line's products in Xian, China, as it wants to cover the growing demand for flash memories.

The increasing demand for semiconductors has caused Samsung to expand production facilities to maintain its dominant position in the market. Already last month, the company decided to invest in production lines for the production of memory chips in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. The first production line at the Pyeongtaek factory saw the light of day about two years ago. Production of the fourth generation of V-NAND memory chips began here in July 2017.

Samsung is expected to begin expanding its manufacturing plant in Xian this month. Samsung decided to release 7 billion dollars for these purposes, which should be gradually invested in the plant over the next three years.
