Samsung continues to strengthen its position in the global premium TV market, setting a target of selling 1,5 million QLED TVs this year. This is a very ambitious target considering that it sold 1 million TVs last year. If sales had actually reached the set target, it would have been a 50% year-on-year increase.

According to industry sources, Samsung's TV division has set a target of selling 1,5 million QLED TVs to beat competition in the global premium TV market. If the company actually sells that many QLED TVs, it will increase the overall average selling price as well.

Samsung faces strong competition in this market, so it will really have to focus all its energy to meet the target. "The strategy is to increase our revenue by focusing on selling expensive TVs," Samsung said in a press release.

Samsung is looking to regain its leadership position in the global premium TV market after falling to third place for the first time in 12 years last year, according to many analysts. The first two places were occupied by Sony and LG.

Samsung introduced QLED TVs at the trade show in New York about three weeks ago. It brings innovations in terms of design and technology, for example it promises Direct Fully Array contrast technology. It is even the first line of smart TVs from Samsung with an integrated Bixby assistant.

A few days ago, the South Korean company also revealed the prices of its QLED TVs, which we informed you about in this article. You will pay $1 for the cheapest model and $500 for the most expensive.
