The Gear S3 Sport brought a whole range of new features, which the South Korean giant later integrated into the older Gear S3 model via a software update. However, Samsung has decided to make the owners of the three-year-old Gear S2 happy and is releasing a big update that includes some new features.
First of all, the update introduces a lot of changes to the user interface, such as icons and widgets optimized for the round display, a more cohesive and unified look, and more. The main change is, for example, a new widget Shortcuts App or the quick access panel, which can be accessed by swiping the screen from top to bottom.
Samsung has also updated the health-related features. The update also brings more browsing options when the device is connected to the S Health app on a smartphone. Users can view daily exercise activity, calorie intake, real-time heart rate and more.

Finally, the update brings more detailed weather forecasts so that Gear S2 owners can better plan their day. Weather forecasts are displayed informace about the highest and lowest temperatures of the day, wind chill, daily temperature differences and so on.
