Last year was written in golden letters in the history of Samsung. Its profits jumped to record numbers, which was mainly due to the supply of OLED displays and the sale of its DRAM chips, the price of which went up solidly last year. However, this year doesn't look bad at all.

According to analysts, at least the first quarter of this year will be very successful for Samsung. While in the first three months of last year its operating profit was 8,8 billion dollars, this year should bring it a respectable 13,7 billion dollars. The main contributor to Samsung's coffers will again be chip sales, from which Samsung has huge margins. However, the smartphone market is by no means lagging. In the first quarter, Samsung is said to have delivered around 9,3 million new smartphones Galaxy S9 and S9+, which is a really solid number. All the more so when this phone went on sale only recently, as Samsung only introduced it on February 25 of this year.

What, on the other hand, gives Samsung wrinkles is the supply of OLED displays to its competitor, the Californian Apple. He reportedly significantly reduced his orders because his flagship last year iPhone X is not selling as well as he expected. However, we will find out whether this is really the case in some time.
