Samsung continues its quest to make traditional projection theaters a thing of the past. Not long ago, therefore, in the Sihlcity cinema hall of the Arena Cinemas company in Švýcarsku installed the world's first 3D Cinema LED screens. Designed and installed in collaboration with Imaculix AG, the 3D variant of Samsung's Cinema LED screen maintains constant brightness and offers viewers wearing 3D glasses a perfect rendering of subtitle text, images and fine visual details. Unlike standard 3D cinemas, the Samsung Cinema LED screen provides consistent picture quality throughout the cinema hall, ensuring an equally captivating spectacle for the viewer in any seat.
"Samsung is very pleased to be able to in Švýcarto present the very first 3D Cinema LED screen in the world,"said Kim Seog-gi, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Division. This first-ever Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI)-certified digital cinema with a Samsung Cinema LED screen equipped with High Dynamic Range technology will offer seamlesscara new generation viewing experience for consumers. The almost 10,3 m wide and 5,4 m high Samsung Cinema LED screen with almost 9 million pixels brings exceptional image quality, technical level and reliability.

The Samsung Cinema LED display highlights the content on the screen through HDR technology. All visuals are rendered in ultra-sharp 4K resolution (4096 x 2160) at a maximum brightness level almost 10 times higher (146 fL) than the usual cinematographic standard (14 fL). The resulting high contrast guarantees bright colors, perfect whites and deep blacks, making it ideal for both 2D and 3D movies. In conjunction with the most modern sound technologies of the JBL Professional brand from HARMAN International, it brings a truly captivating experience.

First introduced to the public in July 2017, Samsung's Cinema LED screen has been successfully installed in Seoul and Busan, Korea, and Shanghai, China. The partnership with Arena Cinemas marks the first installation of a Cinema LED display by Samsung in Europe and the first ever installation of a 3D Cinema LED screen in the world.
