Samsung has started selling the DeX Pad, a docking station that is tailor-made for new smartphones Galaxy S9 and S9+ and can turn it into a desktop computer. It is thus the most interesting accessory in Samsung's offer, which starts to be sold a whole month after the start of sales of the mentioned flagship models.

The Samsung DeX Pad is the direct successor to last year's DeX Station dock, which was introduced along with the models Galaxy S8 and S8+. The new DeX Pad brings several new features. After the new phone, the phone is not placed in the docking station, but laid down, thanks to which the smartphone's touchscreen can be used in desktop mode as a touchpad and control the cursor on the screen. Support for resolutions up to 2560 × 1440 is also new, while last year's generation offered output only in Full HD (1920 × 1080). In contrast, the DeX Pad lacks an ethernet port, but two classic USB ports, one USB-C and an HDMI port remain.

All you have to do is connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the DeX Pad (or use the phone's display), insert a smartphone into it and suddenly you have a full-fledged computer with a special desktop version Androidu. Although the station is referred to as an accessory sewn for the new Galaxy S9 and S9+, also supports last year's models Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note8. Along with the DeX Pad, you will find an HDMI cable, a wall charger and a data cable in the package. The recommended price is CZK 2, Alza however, until midnight today, it offers the DeX Pad for a reduced price of CZK 2.
