Last year, thanks to leaks of interesting information, it began to be actively speculated that Samsung is working on a flexible smartphone with which it would like to change the current smartphone market. The work on a similar project was later confirmed by his pilot, which poured new blood into the veins of all lovers of non-traditional technologies. Later, however, it became clear that we will have to wait some time for this news to arrive. According to available information, the technology needed to produce similar smartphones does not yet exist. However, thanks to new reports, we at least know what prototypes Samsung is flirting with.

At the beginning of this year, the electronics fair CES 2018 was held in Las Vegas. Since there are many interesting partnerships to be concluded, the South Korean giant could not be absent. Even then, it was speculated that he showed his partners his first prototype of Samsung's flexible smartphone. However, until now we had no idea what the first prototype actually looked like. It was only a new report from the portal that shed light on the whole plot The Bell. The sources of this portal revealed that the prototype that Samsung showed to its partners consisted of three 3,5" displays. Two displays were placed on one side of the smartphone and thus created a 7" surface, while the third was placed "on the back" and served as a kind of notification center when folded. When the South Koreans opened the phone, it allegedly looked almost like the model introduced last year Galaxy Footnote8.

Samsung's foldable smartphone concepts:

However, we should definitely not take this design as final yet. As I have already stated several times, it was just a prototype, so it is possible that Samsung will modify it significantly. It should be clear around June of this year, when the South Koreans will determine the exact shape and type, which they will stick to until the end of its development. As for availability, Samsung should launch this phone early next year. However, numbers will be limited and will be collected mainly to get feedback from customers. If it succeeds with them, it can be expected that Samsung will start working on similar projects much more.

So let's hope that such reports are based on truth and Samsung is indeed preparing a revolution for us. We certainly won't be angry if that's the case. It is clear that even if this phone will definitely not be for everyone, it will be a big technological step forward.
