Currently, smartphone manufacturers are constantly working on a foldable smartphone. But the most complicated part of such a device is the foldable display. Even so, Samsung is trying hard to stay ahead of the competition. At least that's what the patents that the South Korean giant has acquired in recent weeks suggest.

Samsung is showing great interest in the development of a foldable phone, as evidenced by a number of patents related to foldable technology. We informed you that the production of a flexible smartphone could start at full speed in Samsung's factories as early as November.

For now, we have no idea how the foldable phone will look or work, but the patents at least show us how Samsung is thinking about the next milestone in smartphone technology. Samsung has again received more patents, which we will now look at.

Perhaps the most interesting is the one that shows a smartphone composed of three parts. Given how technologically challenging it is to create a simple foldable phone, a three-piece smartphone seems to be a much bigger challenge. Another patent, which you may have seen in the past, this time does not focus on the design, but on the deformation sensor and controller, which is important for a foldable smartphone in many ways. The patent also talks about a grip sensor that would require users to use specific grip areas to bend the smartphone.

The patent states: "The display device includes a display, a strain sensor for sensing the bending of the display, and a controller for controlling the display."

Samsung also received a patent for a smartphone with a transparent display. However, for now it is not clear what the South Korean company intends to do with such a smartphone, but it seems that it will be related to augmented reality.
