Galaxy S10 and its features

In recent weeks, we have already informed you several times that the device would Galaxy The Note9 could offer an in-display fingerprint reader. Two months ago, it was even announced that Samsung had opted for an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, after that, Samsung reportedly informed its suppliers that from the original plan to introduce an in-display fingerprint reader in Galaxy Note9 drops and integrates it into the display Galaxy S10 coming next year. Of course, Samsung won't be the first company to bring a smartphone with an in-display fingerprint reader, but its technology will be much better than the technology used by Chinese phone manufacturers.

Chinese companies use an optical fingerprint sensor, but it is not as accurate. Samsung is developing its own ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that will be much more accurate.

Concept Galaxy S9 with a cut-out modeled on the iPhone X from Martin Hajek:

The technology works by sending an ultrasound pulse against the finger, some of which is absorbed and some of which is sent back to the sensor through details such as pores that are unique to each fingerprint. This allows the reader to collect additional depth data, resulting in a very precise 3D fingerprint copy, thus ensuring greater accuracy.

Samsung is reportedly developing the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor itself and will use it not only in smartphones but also in other devices such as home appliances, smart home devices and even cars.

It is too early for the South Korean giant to reveal when it is going to unveil Galaxy S10, however, there are already the first speculations that the flagship could see the light of day in January at CES 2019.
