Samsung will have time to present this year Galaxy Note9, and so various appear informace and speculation related to the upcoming device. However, in the last few weeks, leaks of Galaxy S10, i.e. about the flagship, which should not see the light of day until the beginning of next year. Initially, it was assumed that the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated into the display will already get Galaxy Note9, however, the South Korean giant eventually decided to incorporate the feature up to Galaxy S10.

Furthermore, leaker Ice Universe revealed that Galaxy The S10 should get a display with a pixel density higher than 600 PPI. Current models Galaxy S9 to Galaxy The S9+ have a 2 x 960 pixel (WQHD+) display, meaning the smaller device has a pixel density of 1 PPI and the larger counterpart 440 PPI. After WQHD+, the next popular resolution is UHD/570K or 530 x 4 pixels. If the given resolution were to be used by Galaxy The S9+, whose display is 6,2 inches, would have a density of 710 PPI.

If Samsung plans to Galaxy The S10 will work more with the Gear VR, then the switch to 4K resolution is understandable. Alternatively, the company could offer a better experience in apps like the photo gallery. However, Samsung could also accept a non-standard resolution, something between WQHD+ and 4K.

There is one more possibility. Smartphone Galaxy The S10 would default to WQHD+ resolution, but once connected to the Gear VR, the resolution would switch to 4K, or even switch to 4K the moment the user opened any of the apps that required that resolution. However, we don't know how big yet Galaxy The S10 will, and for now we think 600+ PPI is rather impractical and unnecessary.

This is what it might look like Galaxy S10 with iPhone X-style notch:
