For the past few years, users have kept hoping that Samsung will introduce a device with an in-display fingerprint reader. So far, however, the South Korean giant does not offer any such smartphone, but that could change next year. Samsung should reveal it at the beginning of 2019 Galaxy S10, which boasts a fingerprint reader integrated into the display.

Samsung with Galaxy The S10 will celebrate the series' tenth anniversary Galaxy S, so he is expected to draw aces from his sleeve. According to the latest report that came out of South Korea, it is more or less confirmed that Galaxy The S10 will have an in-display fingerprint reader. It is even possible that the component will be supplied to Samsung by Qualcomm, which has been developing an ultrasonic sensor for a long time.

Two months ago, there was a report that Samsung was deciding whether to introduce the technology in u Galaxy S10. Apparently, the company has already made up its mind. The latest report states that Samsung has confirmed to industry partners that it has decided to build in the Galaxy S10 in-display fingerprint sensor. Samsung Display will supply the panels, and Qualcomm will supply the ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.

This is the first time we've heard that Qualcomm is a potential sensor supplier, as previous reports claimed that Samsung is developing its own ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for use in devices other than smartphones, such as smart home appliances or cars.

The ultrasonic sensor is more accurate than the capacitive sensor that most other manufacturers use in their smartphones. Galaxy The S10 won't see the light of day until 2019. Samsung is expected to make a big reveal of the flagship at CES 2019 in January.
