Samsung has been working on a foldable smartphone for quite some time. They seeped to the surface three years ago informace about a folding device called Project Valley, however, Samsung never decided to release a unique smartphone to the world. A few days ago, photos of the phone from the project appeared on the Internet, which show why Samsung ultimately decided not to launch the device.

As you can see from the photos in the gallery below, Samsung's original foldable phone was basically a regular smartphone with an additional display attached to it that could be folded down. Although the device would get quite a lot of attention since no other company had anything like it at the time, Samsung ultimately decided not to release a foldable phone just to be the first brand on the market to offer a foldable smartphone. But that doesn't mean this early prototype isn't important.

It is speculated that the foldable smartphone should cost less than $2. In three years, Samsung has obtained a lot of patents, for example, on the user interface for such a device, so it is clear that the design of the folding phone will be more modern and sophisticated than that of a few years ago.
