Although many smartphones are now referred to as bezel-less, they still have bezels around or at least below and above the display. However, some manufacturers are already slowly showing that even these ailments can be removed with a little effort, and the front is practically only decorated with the display. Of course, Samsung would also like to be included among these manufacturers, which is already slowly thinking about what its phones will look like in the future.

According to new patents that Samsung recently registered, we could expect smartphones in the future that will have only a minimal frame above the display, in which all the necessary sensors and the speaker will be hidden. However, the back of the phone is far more interesting. Even those could get a display that would take up a significant part of them. This could be used, for example, for selfies with the rear camera, notifications or similar things. Of course, Samsung does not mention its exact use in its patent, and from the drawing it is clear that it is just playing with this idea.

If we really get a display on the back of the phone, Samsung would have to come up with a new place for the camera. He would then probably move it to the upper left corner, as shown in the patent. If he then wanted a dual camera, he would have to choose a horizontal orientation.

It's clear that such a phone could be really interesting, and if Samsung could find a suitable use for the rear display, it could be revolutionary in many ways. For now, of course, this is just a patent, which technology companies patent hundreds of per year. We shouldn't count on the arrival of something similar just yet.
