If you follow the events in the world of smartphones in more depth, you could have registered a rather interesting thing a few weeks ago, when the American authorities warned against the use of smartphones from Chinese manufacturers, who through them secretly obtain a lot of data about users. It is therefore quite clear that such phones are absolutely prohibited, at least in state institutions, and only devices that pass a thorough security check and are found to be suitable can be used here. And it is precisely this honor that Samsung has now received with its models Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9 to Galaxy Footnote8.

The three models mentioned above were added to the list of approved products for the US Department of Defense. In short, this means that they are suitable for use in this institution and practically without risk. System lovers Android, who work for the Ministry of Defense, can start rubbing their hands together.

It must be said that obtaining a security certificate for smartphones is not an easy task at all.  The manufacturer must convince the state that his product is not capable of endangering the security of the state in any way, which is of course very important. Samsung had to work with several standards bodies on this and adapt the products to meet all the standards. The device must demonstrate more than a hundred unique requirements to convince the Department of Defense that it is suitable for use. At random we can mention encryption, detection of an intrusion attempt or support of security network standards.

Although this fact is a great honor for Samsung, its work is of course not over. It will of course be important to keep your standard on the same wavelength and to fix it quickly in case of any problem. But just getting the certificate is a small win for him.
