Recently, you can hear about the foldable smartphone from Samsung on every corner. It looks like the South Korean giant is constantly moving forward in development and could show us its final product quite soon. The most optimistic news already talks about the course of next year, which would of course be great. However, the arrival would not necessarily excite us so much as a result. It is possible that the product will not fully meet our expectations.

Samsung seems to have already solved the display issues for its foldable smartphone and will begin manufacturing them later this summer. The same applies to the batteries, which will also be special foldable and Samsung will use them in its products for the very first time. However, there were rumors in the backroom that the battery could be a stumbling block. Due to the problems that Samsung encountered with the model Galaxy Note7, the South Korean giant will reportedly decide to use a smaller battery, which could have a capacity of roughly 3000 to 4000 mAh. A larger battery could once again represent a certain risk, which Samsung obviously does not want to expose itself to after the Note7 fiasco.

A trio of foldable smartphone concepts:

However, low battery capacity could ultimately be a stumbling block. The phone should get a really large display, which will of course be relatively energy-intensive. The durability of the smartphone might not be too dazzling. On the other hand, this will of course be the first swallow on which Samsung can prove whether it makes sense to produce similar smartphones or not. If it decides to have one, a battery upgrade can also be expected.

The fact that Samsung is expected to produce roughly 300 to 000 units of the foldable smartphone from Samsung is evidenced by the fact that it will be more of a rarity than a phone for the masses. Availability will thus be really minimal. However, since there is speculation about a price approaching the $500 mark, it is clear that there would not be much interest in this phone anyway.
