In recent months, there have been several indications that the upcoming Galaxy The S10 from Samsung's workshop boasts a fingerprint reader in the display. According to the latest news, the necessary sensor should be supplied to Samsung by Qualcomm, which has been working on the development of an ultrasonic reader in the display for several years, and thus can currently offer the best components in the field.

Based on available information, Samsung should use the third-generation sensor, which is currently the latest sensor from Qualcomm. The fingerprint reader is thus not only faster, but above all more accurate, more reliable and therefore safer. At the same time, it will be so Galaxy The S10 is probably the first phone in the world to offer such an advanced reader in the display. Of course, the cooperation also appeals to Qualcomm itself, as its product will reach millions of customers at once.

The first generation of the ultrasonic reader was introduced by Qualcomm in 2015 and was more of a prototype that interested manufacturers could test to see what to expect from the new technology. The second generation was then used last year by selected Chinese companies in their devices, but it did not make it into a globally widespread product. Only the third generation should be groundbreaking, thanks to the interest from the South Korean giant.

However, it still holds true Galaxy The S10 may not be the first Samsung smartphone to offer a reader in the display. As we recently they wrote, there is a possibility that the company will introduce a mid-range phone for the Chinese market in the coming months, which should offer the mentioned novelty. Samsung's new strategy is that it will first offer innovative technology in mid-range phones and only then deploy it in flagship models.
