If, like me, you live by music and want to listen to quality sound even on the go, then you are absolutely right here today. A few days ago, I received another package from Swissten, which, among other things, contains a great wireless speaker called the Swissten X-BOOM. The designation X-BOOM Swissten chose absolutely correctly, because this external speaker is an absolute bomb. This is mainly due to its design, great sound quality, water resistance and other aspects. But I'm getting ahead of myself, because we'll look at all these features in a later part of the review. So let's take a good look at everything.

As is usual with my reviews, we will first discuss the official specifications of the X-BOOM speaker. The speaker will impress you primarily with its interesting design, which is available in six different colors. Furthermore, the speaker is waterproof, with IPX5 certification, which means that the speaker can withstand water splashes from any angle without the slightest problem. The battery life also got a positive rating from me. The Swissten X-BOOM external speaker has a 2.000 mAh battery that guarantees up to 8 hours of active operation, so you don't have to worry about being stuck somewhere without your favorite music. Furthermore, the X-BOOM is of course characterized by a clean and high-quality sound with a focus on really deep bass, which I can only confirm.

The packaging of the X-BOOM speaker surprised me in a way. If you decide to order this product, you will receive a beautifully crafted box with an outdoor theme. The front side has a kind of window that gives you the opportunity to view the speaker even before unpacking. In general, the Swissten branding is on the box, then on the back there is a picture describing all the functions and control options of the X-BOOM. After unpacking the box, you pull out the plastic cover, which of course contains the speaker. Apart from it, the package also includes an AUX cable for connecting the speaker and a microUSB cable for charging. Since this is an outdoor speaker, Swissten decided to add a carabiner to the package, with which you can attach the speaker anywhere. And who knows, maybe one day this carbine will save your life.

The speaker itself feels really sturdy in the hand. On the outside, Swissten decided to use rubber to make sure that even in case of a fall, the speaker will not break. You can use the X-BOOM both horizontally and vertically, as the speaker has feet that guarantee that the speaker always stays in place.
The upper part of the speaker is very interesting. There are a total of four buttons here. In the middle is the classic on/off button, which serves, among other things, to pair with your device. Around this button there are three more, one of which serves to pause the music and at the same time to accept an incoming call. Of course, there are two buttons with which you can easily adjust the volume or switch tracks.
There is then a cover on the edge of the upper part of the speaker, thanks to which you can uncover all the connectors that the speaker has. This is a classic AUX connector, then a microUSB connector used for charging and a microSD slot, into which you simply insert an SD card with music and you can start listening without the need for another connection.

I am really grateful to Swissten for the opportunity to test this speaker. I tested the X-BOOM for several days, and since it's still kind of summer outside, I naturally took it outside. The speaker served us in the group excellently to sound the whole garden, which is a really great performance for such a relatively small speaker. X-BOOM works perfectly and without any problems, the bluetooth signal is able to be received from a phone several meters away and it can play any style of music without any problems. X-BOOM will also attract the attention of many eyes with its attractive design. I don't really have a single complaint about the workmanship or the design, everything works perfectly together and I will definitely continue to use X-BOOM.
