The smart home trend has literally been on the rise in recent years, largely thanks to robotic vacuum cleaners. After all, the idea of having your floor cleaned in your absence is tempting, and the possibility of purchasing a relatively effective cleaning assistant is no longer a question of tens of thousands of crowns. Just such an example is the Evolveo RoboTrex H6, which, in addition to its low price, also offers a number of other advantages, including the ability to mop the floor. So let's go to vacuum cleaner test look in more detail.

RoboTrex H6 fulfills basically everything you expect from a classic robotic vacuum cleaner - it can be controlled remotely, it can navigate the room and avoid obstacles using 10 infrared sensors, thanks to 3 sensors it can detect stairs and thus prevent its fall, using a pair of long brushes it also vacuums in corners and, after completing its activity, it is able to drive itself to the station and start charging. At the same time, the vacuum cleaner also offers a number of advantages - it does not require bags (the dirt goes into the container), it is equipped with a more powerful motor with quieter operation and economical operation, it has a HEPA filter, it hides a large battery with a capacity of 2 mAh with a duration of almost two hours and, above all, is capable of not only luxuriating the floor, but also wiping it.

The packaging of the vacuum cleaner is rich in a number of (spare) accessories. In addition to the RoboTrex H6 itself, we can find a dust container (instead of a bag), a water container for mopping, a remote control with a display, a charging base with a power source, two large mopping cloths, a HEPA filter and spare brushes for vacuuming along with a cleaning brush vacuum cleaners. There is also a manual, which is completely in Czech and Slovak and is quite rich in detailed descriptions of how to proceed during the first setup and subsequent vacuuming.

Vacuuming and mopping

There are four programs for cleaning - automatic, perimeter, circular and scheduled - but you will most often use the first and last mentioned. The ability to schedule cleaning is particularly useful, as you can use the controller to determine when the vacuum cleaner should be activated. And after cleaning (or even if the battery is low during cleaning), it automatically returns to the charging station. In practice, the RoboTrex H6 is a fairly capable cleaning assistant. Especially when switched to maximum power, it can clean even more dirty places and also more easily vacuum dust from corners and hard-to-reach places. In general, however, the corners of rooms are a general problem of robotic vacuum cleaners - even during our testing, small specks remained sporadically in the corners, for which the vacuum cleaner simply could not reach.

As mentioned above, the RoboTrex H6 not only vacuums your floor, it also mops it. In this case, you need to replace the dust container with the water container that is included in the package. A microfiber mop is then attached to the bottom of the vacuum cleaner, which sucks water from the container during mopping and the vacuum cleaner moves around the room. It is more like a classic floor wipe, but it is still quite effective and sufficient for regular cleaning. A minor disadvantage is that you cannot use any cleaning product for wiping, because you have to fill the container with clean water. But you can also just wipe the floor with a dry mop, which makes it shiny after cleaning.

Thanks to 13 sensors, the vacuum cleaner orients itself fairly well in the room, but it needs to remove some minor obstacles before cleaning. For example, he has problems with cables, which he is able to cross in most cases, but he struggles with them for some time. Similarly, it also struggles with older types of thresholds at doors that aren't low enough to drive over, nor high enough to detect. That is also why Evolveo offers the option to buy more special accessories, which creates a virtual wall for the vacuum cleaner. But if you live in a more modern home with low thresholds and you have cables hidden, for example, in the baseboards or you are simply able to lift them before cleaning, then the vacuum cleaner will serve you more than well. The legs of chairs, tables or beds, which it detects and vacuums around them, do not cause problems for it, and of course not all furniture, in front of which it slows down and carefully cleans up. If once in a while it hits, for example, a cupboard, then the impact is dampened by the specially sprung front part, which is also rubberized, so there will be no damage to the vacuum cleaner or the furniture.

Vacuum cleaners don't cause problems, nor do carpets. However, it depends on what type it is. The RoboTrex H6 is also able to remove hair and lint from classic carpets, but you need to switch to maximum suction power. For the so-called shaggy high pile carpets you will encounter problems, but even the most expensive robotic vacuum cleaners cannot cope here, because they are simply not built for this type. From my own experience, I can also recommend removing the microfiber mop from the vacuum cleaner before cleaning.

Summary

Considering its lower price, the Evolveo RoboTrex H6 is more than a decent robotic vacuum cleaner. It only has a problem with the detection of certain types of obstacles, but it is a disadvantage that can be eliminated very easily. On the other hand, it offers a number of advantages, such as the ability to wipe with a wet and dry mop, long and silent operation, automatic charging, the possibility of cleaning planning, bagless operation and also a number of spare accessories.
