Samsung is probably following in the footsteps of Huawei (and Honor), which have already introduced their own GPU boosters for their smartphones. Gaming on phones is becoming more and more popular among users, so it's more important than ever for phone manufacturers to improve GPU performance.

The South Korean company took the first step in this direction already in spring of last year, during the presentation Galaxy Notes 9, when it announced that the popular game Fortnite will be released exclusively for this phone. Now, Samsung will significantly improve the GPU performance in its devices to offer an optimal gaming experience.

The tech giant has now filed for a trademark for smartphone software called Neuro Game Booster. The name itself says that Samsung probably wants to surpass Huawei, which introduced its GPU booster together with EMUI 8.

We don't know from the software description how this technology will work, but it's certain that Samsung, like Huawei, will use the artificial intelligence of its own new Exynos 9820 processor to boost performance. We also don't know yet whether the GPU booster will only work with its own chipset or it will also be available for Snapdragon 855 processors, which include the Adreno GPU. However, it is very likely that Samsung will introduce this news along with its new phones Galaxy S10.
