Samsung's recently filed patents hint that the company is developing a smart T-shirt with built-in sensors. This should detect various diseases among other things.

The T-shirt will use sensors to monitor lung function based on the principle of sound detection from organs. Based on the information obtained, it will then display a diagnosis on the connected phone. According to the South Korean giant, the frequency and strength of the breath can also be measured in this way.

This is how a smart t-shirt from Samsung could look like:

This technology can detect, for example, pneumonia or bronchitis, but also chronic lung diseases such as asthma or obstructive lung disease. Your previous state of health, BMI, age, height and weight will also be taken into account. The sensors will be connected to a smartphone, so the user will be able to conveniently read the diagnosis and symptoms of the disease. Based on this, they will also find recommendations for the next course of action.

This is definitely a useful technology that would find use both in sports and, for example, in people with long-term illnesses.

Samsung already introduced a smart suit or smart running shoes last year. However, it is not clear when exactly this smart T-shirt will be released to the public, if at all. We do not see a lot of patented technologies in practice at all.
