Samsung gradually started updating the operating system Android Pie One pro Galaxy S9 and S9+ last December. At the moment, the update has already arrived in most regions and for most users of the mentioned devices. But in addition to a number of improvements and new features, the latest update seems to have its downside in the form of huge demands on the battery. Samsung owners also complain about unusual consumption Galaxy S8 and S8+.

The question is how serious the problem is. The number of users complaining that after switching to Android Pie percentage of the battery in their devices decreases drastically, it is quite enough, and in some of them the operating time has been reduced by up to half. Samsung is well aware of the whole issue, but it is most likely not a major problem caused by a specific bug in the system.

According to Samsung, the higher battery consumption is more due to the transition to a new version of the operating system as such. In the case of significant updates, a number of processes occur in the given device that can have a negative effect on battery life, but this is not a permanent condition and the situation should settle down within about a week. In some cases, a factory reset of the device or a repeated reboot also helps. In case it is a bug in the system, Samsung would release a new version with the appropriate bug fix as soon as possible.

Have you updated the operating system on your device yet? Have you noticed an effect on battery life?
