Frameless display on the new one Galaxy The S10 is undoubtedly beautiful, and we can only welcome Samsung's tendency to push the term "Infinity Display" a little further. However, along with the fact that the display has spread over basically the entire front of the phone, the probability of its damage has also increased. That's why we decided to test tempered glass from the Danish company PanzerGlass, i.e. one of the highest quality on the market.

In addition to the glass, the package includes a traditionally moistened napkin, a microfiber cloth, a sticker for removing the remaining specks of dust, and also instructions in which the glass installation procedure is also described in Czech. The application is very simple and took us about a minute in the editorial office. In short, you just need to clean the phone, peel off the film from the glass and place it on the display so that the cut-out for the front camera and the upper speaker fits.

However, it should be noted that the glass only sticks to the edges. However, the vast majority of tempered glass for Samsung's flagship models is handled this way. The reason is the phone's curved screen on the sides, which in short is a problem for adhesive glasses, and manufacturers have to choose the above-mentioned solution.

On the other hand, thanks to this, they can offer glasses with rounded edges. And this is exactly what PanzerGlass Premium is, which copies the curves of the edges of the display. Although the glass does not extend to the farthest edges of the panel, this is precisely why it is compatible with basically all covers and cases, even the really sturdy ones.

Other features will also please. The glass is a bit thicker than the competition - specifically, its thickness is 0,4 mm. At the same time, it also offers high hardness and transparency, thanks to a high-quality tempering process that lasts for 5 hours at a temperature of 500 °C (ordinary stocks are only chemically hardened). A benefit is also less susceptibility to fingerprints, which is ensured by a special oleophobic layer covering the outer part of the glass.

However, there is one drawback. PanzerGlass Premium - like many similar tempered glasses - is not compatible with the ultrasonic fingerprint reader in the display Galaxy S10. In short, the sensor is not able to recognize a finger through the glass. The manufacturer states this fact directly on the product packaging and explains that the design of the glass was primarily about maintaining quality and durability, and it is at the expense of this that the reader is not supported. However, most owners Galaxy Rather than a fingerprint, the S10 uses facial recognition for authentication, which is faster and often more convenient.

Apart from the lack of support for the ultrasonic sensor, there is not much to complain about with PanzerGlass Premium. The problem does not even arise when using the Home button, which is sensitive to the force of the press - even through the glass it works without problems. I would have liked a slightly less visible cutout for the front camera. Otherwise, the PanzerGlass glass is excellently processed and I have to praise the ground edges, which do not cut into the finger when performing specific gestures.
