Samsung's long-awaited Unpacked event isn't happening until tomorrow, but the company is doing its own thing Galaxy Watch Active 2 has already been introduced. What does the second generation of smart watches from Samsung offer?
A number of speculations that we have fed you over the past few weeks have indeed been confirmed. Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be available in 44mm and 40mm variants with AMOLED displays with a diagonal of 1,4 and 1,2 inches and a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. Both versions are equipped with an Exynos 9110 processor, 768MB of RAM (in the case of the LTE model, 1,5GB of RAM) and 4GB of storage. While the larger model has a 340mAh battery, the 40mm version is powered by a 247mAh battery. They use to connect to the smartphone Galaxy Watch Active 2 Bluetooth 5.0 protocol. Both versions feature IP68 class resistance and MIL-STD-810G military certification. An aluminum version with an FKM band and a stainless steel version with a leather strap will be available - but this will only be available in the LTE version and 44mm size. Another of the confirmed specifications is the absence of a rotating bezel - there are instead Galaxy Watch Active 2 equipped with a digital, touch-controlled bezel.

Galaxy Watch Active 2 can monitor over 39 types of physical activity, of which selected types (running, cycling, walking, swimming and others) can be monitored automatically by the watch. Runners will certainly appreciate the Running Coach function with the option of setting multiple types of running. In addition to fitness tools, it offers Galaxy Watch Active 2 also useful health functions. These include, for example, the ability to track stress levels, improved sleep monitoring and even an EKG. However, the latter function will be available later in the update.
Those who put up with a coordinated outfit will certainly appreciate the My Style function, which allows color matching of the dial with the current outfit. Of course, there is also the option of remote camera control with viewing of photo and video previews directly on the watch display. This feature should be available to model owners Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+, Galaxy S10 5G, Galaxy Notes 9, Galaxy S9 to Galaxy S9 +.
Galaxy Watch Active 2 should have been available from September 13, the price of the 40mm version starts at 7499 CZK and the price of the 44mm version at 7999 CZK.
